In mid 2013 a need was identified for a men’s sport chronograph that would reside in the upper tier of Fossil’s price structure. It was to have a subtle 1960’s vibe without looking like it was found at an antique store. The Del Rey platform is the result. It was launched in Spring 2014 and has been a success story for the brand. Its acceptance in the marketplace confirmed that consumers would spend more on the higher tier products as long as quality was not sacrificed.
